The Highbush Cranberry is a stunning native species that is found all across Canada. Growing in a wide variety of conditions, this versatile plant produces large clusters of berries that range from 9-10 mm in size and contain a single flat seed. They ripen in September and last through the winter, making them an attractive addition to any garden, orchard or food forest.

Highbush Cranberry is known for an array of health benefits: they are a great source of vitamin C and are full of antioxidants. The bark has been used traditionally to relieve cramps. The berries are not ideal for eating straight off the tree but are used to make jams, sauces, juices are more! The berries are great for making natural dye for your homemade creations.

In autumn, the stunning bright pink-red foliage on the Highbush Cranberry shrubs reveal themselves: adding a pop of bright red to your yard. The berries aren’t ideal for eating straight off the tree but can be used to make jams, sauces, and as a cooking ingredient.
