Collection: Apple Trees

Apple trees are sold as one year old whips between 0.3-1m (1-3') in height. Our apples are grafted on both Ranetka and Siberian Crabapple full-sized rootstock. We also have a limited amount of trees grafted to Bud 118 rootstock, these grow up to 80% of a full-sized rootstock size.

Dwarf-sized apple trees are also available and grafted on Vineland 3 (V3) apple rootstock. These can be selected on the menu next to the product description. Dwarf trees grow out to 1.8 x 1.8m (6 x 6 feet) in height and width at maturity. Dwarf trees grow shallower root systems and perform best with staking and regular watering.

Apple trees are self-sterile and will benefit when planted alongside another variety to pollinate them. Apple trees like to grow in fertile, well-drained soil. You should plant full-sized trees 5-6m (16-20 feet) apart.

Dwarf-sized trees can be planted 2.4-3m (8-10 feet) apart.
We do have some varieties that produce after 3 years but on average you can expect most to fruit at 5 years of age. Refer to the Planting and Care page for more information.
