Prairie Sun Apple

The Prairie Sun apple tree is hardy and high-yielding, with oblate-shaped fruit in a yellowish cream with pink blush skin. Its flesh is fine-textured, crisp, juicy and moderately sweet. A delightful combination of sweet and tart flavours make Prairie Sun Apples great for fresh eating, as well as for culinary uses such as sauces, snacks, and pies.

Prairie Sun apples grow up to 6-8cm (2-3") in size, ripening by late August to early September and can be stored for up to 2 months in cold storage. Additionally, the tree's naturally semi-dwarf vigour makes it a manageable choice. Prairie Sun Apple was released by the University of Saskatchewan in 1999.

Growers Note: Very hardy apple, may be worth growing in Zone 1 climate areas
